Allison M. Slocum is a top-performing and accomplished professional with extensive experience in management, promotions, marketing, event planning, email marketing, social media, written communications and client services. A point-of-fact professional with the ability to manage multiple projects, Slocum utilizes intuition, data analysis and creativity to determine unique ways of presenting ideas to the public. A perceptive communicator with a proven ability to converse with both Fortune 500 companies and grass roots constituents, Slocum is a critical thinker with an incredible work ethic, extreme professionalism and integrity.

Prior to joining the DeKalb County District 7 team, Slocum served as the marketing and special events coordinator for Atlanta Tribune: The Magazine for over a decade, where she organized events while providing project management for the company’s special events including maintaining budgets, fulfilling sponsor agreements, procuring volunteers, entertainment, photographers, vendors, speakers and any other aspects related to planning and executing a successful event.

A native of Ohio, Slocum holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion and Retail Management from The Art Institute of Atlanta.

Leah holds a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from Indiana University where she completed majors in Public Management and Policy Analysis and a minor in Information Science. She holds a M.P.A. with a concentration in Health Administration from Auburn University and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia. Leah is a graduate of the 2021 Class of Leadership DeKalb. She serves on the United Way of Greater Atlanta DeKalb Advisory Board and is a member of the Emory Healthcare Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Community Engagement Team.
